The different projects will focus on analysis of cell fate choices and gene expression dynamics in single cells. The techniques involved cover a broad spectrum of molecular and cellular biology techniques (DNA cloning, PCR, culture and differentiation of mouse embryonic stem cells, transfection, production of lentiviral vectors, etc.), as well as live cell luminescence and fluorescence imaging with quantitative analysis of movies. We are always interested in hiring talented master students to work on single cell quantitative analysis of gene expression. The project will involve a broad set of techniques, ranging from molecular cloning, lentiviral vector transgenesis, embryonic stem cell culture, and ultrasensitive live cell fluorescence and luminescence imaging. Please note that no salary funding from the lab is available, thus applicants from abroad should ensure that they have a fellowship covering 100% of their expenses in Switzerland.
